On Ideological and Political Education in Translation Teaching from the Perspective of Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind

Building a community with a shared future for mankind is a new solution to global governance offered by China in the new era. In view of this national strategy, foreign language education should not focus only on skills learning, but also on moral education. Translation studies provide rich elements of moral education for Ideological and Political Education (IPE), such as translation theory, translation examples and translators' professional qualities. The paper proposes the principles and practices of integrating IPE into translation teaching. Besides, the Chinese-English Translation Course from Foreign Language Schools of Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics Dongfang College is exemplified to show the whole process of integration.
