The role of the pharmacist in leprosy through the Pharmaceutical Care: An integrative review

Objective: To demonstrate the role of the pharmacist in leprosy through pharmaceutical care. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review, for which a bibliographic survey was carried out in the following databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), U.S. National Library of Medicine (PUBMED) with the help of Mendeley, Ministry of Health and official statistical data. Data were collected from December 2021 to April 2022 and covered between the years 2016 to 2021. Results: After selecting the studies, according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 23 scientific articles were selected from the 55 found for this study and the processing of the result and the discussion of the data, although this integrative review had not restricted its scope to research carried out in Brazil, the matrix information that makes up this discussion comes from studies produced in a national scenario. Conclusion: It was found that Brazil has been considered a country with a high rate of leprosy, second only to India. Therefore, pharmaceutical care within the context of Pharmaceutical Care (PA) through the Unified Health System (SUS), becomes fundamental in the fight against leprosy within the Brazilian scenario.
