Dairy farming plays a crucial role in Brazilian agribusiness and contributes to the country’s employment and income generation. Moreover, the state of Bahia is the largest consumer market for dairy products in the northeastern region of Brazil. On the other hand, it has been observed that rural producers have low productivity and competitiveness. In addition, there is a need to implement mechanisms to support the competitiveness of agribusinesses and the production sector from the perspective of food chains, based on the evaluation of factors related to intangible resources, given their importance to the economy. In this scenario, this article aims to present a Management Model for Small-Scale Dairies in the context of the Milk Agro-industrial System of Bahia (SAG Leite). To this end, we visited companies and rural producers and applied the Intellectual Capital Statement – Made in Europe model (InCaS) to evaluate the maturity level of the actors involved. To conclude, we present the Management Model for Small-Scale Dairies, which involves (i) stakeholders; (ii) information and knowledge; (iii) methods, tools, and technology; (iv) indicators and results; and (v) processes.
