Abstract

In this work, we took the Quilombola Community Sítio de Lagoinha, from the Sertão do São Francisco Territory, as the space for this research, the only quilombola community certified by the Palmares Cultural Foundation in the municipality of Casa Nova, located in the north of the state of Bahia, 100 km from the municipality of Juazeiro and 600 kilometers from Salvador. The research is of a qualitative nature, in a necessary process and, in some aspects, of continuity of a work carried out between the years 2013 and 2020, in the communities of Juazeiro da Bahia, in the exercise of the public function in front of the Directorate of Diversity, sector of the Municipal Government of Juazeiro (BA), responsible for ethnic-racial relations, administratively linked to the Secretariat for Social Development, Women and Diversity.
