Abstract

In this study, the equation that expresses the explicit relationship between the wave number and wave amplitude, as well as wave period and wave amplitude are established. The wave number and the wave period are calculated solely using the input wave amplitude. The equation is formulated with the velocity potential of the solution to Laplace’s equation to the hydrodynamic conservation equations, such as the momentum equilibrium equation, Euler Equation for conservation of momentum, and by working on the kinematic bottom and free surface boundary condition. In this study, the equation that expresses the explicit relationship between the wave number and wave amplitude, as well as wave period and wave amplitude are established.
